When we tried to check in a bit early 3:15pm, we were told we needed to wait on the 9th floor or be charged a $75 fee. On arrival on the 9th floor, we were told by an another employee (manager) that our room should be ready. We went back down, got keys from different front desk people, asked for late check out 12pm, & went to our room. The next day we had brunch & used the exercise room. We got to our room at 10:30am & prepared to pack. At 11am, housekeeping knocked on the door for checkout, altho we had asked for a 12pm checkout. We informed them of the late checkout request. At 11:30am, we got another knock & were told by a hostile housekeeper that we did NOT have a late checkout. The employee requested we call the front desk & left. The front desk confirmed the late checkout had been entered in the wrong system but we DID have a late checkout. While on the phone with them, we were told housekeeping told her we were smoking in the room & we would be charged a cleaning fee. Neither my husband nor I smoke AT ALL. We requested that the desk send someone to the room. She put us on hold twice, first reiterating that we were smoking, then finally sending someone to the room, before hanging up when we requested the name of the accusing person. Maintenance confirmed no smoke smell in the room & called the front desk to notify them. This seemed to be retaliation to the confusion with the late checkout (not our fault) & left a bad taste in our mouths. Other staff were lovely.
