Good reviews are a sham

Nice hotel and clean. Don't leave the area though day or night massive Projects a block away. Water pressure is horrible and stays hot for one half shower. Family of four meant 3 cold showers with horrible water pressure. It's worth hundreds more to stay somewhere elsewhere. Each uber ride from the hotel is NY City touristy areas is 40 bucks to and from.

This hotel is awesome. I have no complaints about the hotel. The staff is actually exceptional. If you need anything they are on it fast. The breakfast is decent. And compared to Manhattan hotels the rooms are decent size and the bathrooms are great. Very clean. HOWEVER, aside from the hotel itself. Be aware next door is public housing and it gets rowdy and loud. It's very ghetto outside and I absolutely would not want my wife walking out there alone. Police are everywhere fortunately. They are needed. The first night we stayed there was like a block party or something going on directly outside the hotel till roughly 3am. When you walk outside it's people sitting on stoops smoking weed blasting music, people fighting and yelling glaring at you. If you're a single young woman I wouldn't walk through here alone. It's a good experience, food options are limited. You really stay here to take that F train to Manhattan. You don't want to be hanging around the neighborhood at all. It's unfortunate because the hotel is amazing. There's a reason the prices are what they are. But no hate to the staff or this hotel at all.

The hotel itself was nice, but check-in was a major issue. I arrived at 3pm, the listed check-in time, but the system was down and I was unable to check in. After waiting over an hour, the system was still not working. I had booked this hotel specifically to have a room to get ready for a 5pm event, but since I couldn’t check in, I ended up having to get ready in the bathroom. This was exactly the situation I was trying to avoid by booking a room. It was extremely inconvenient and frustrating, especially since there didn’t seem to be a backup plan for guests checking in during the outage, leaving us waiting around in the rain. I would have appreciated some sort of credit or accommodation for the inconvenience.
