Very bad experience of my stay in this hotel . Booked room 10 days in advance Called 2 days ibefore occupancy on Oct 20 to 22 . Need front city view . Even at time entry to front desk . But still allotted me room in front elevators two times . Where as their cleaning told me front view room are empty . Lastly called hotel mgr who was rude but gave a small king size room Entry room saw no minimum amenities available in the room . No hand or bathing soap bar . No tooth paste 0 . Only two small bath towel for two & two hand towel for two plus two shampoo packs No cofee machine of hot water kettle , tea bags glasses or cups . To go outside for tea or breakfast . No near by restaurant or cofee . As this hotel in industrial or factory area . Thanks I brought my electric kettle and tea bags to make plus dispoble cups for use . Room intercom not working called front desk mgr he says it is handle ny some other company not our responsibility . Called for hand soap to wash hand . Told come down to collect soap bar from front desk . When came down being told soap out of stock zAfter he went down to find out from its store . Only one person front desk is there to give entry to guest Ang’s collect room keys when guest leaves Hotel should have one shop in basement to breakfast or cofee on payment basis . Requested to refund my money for 2nd day . Was fdenied too . Xperia should not keep such poor managed hotel in their list who can provide toiletry bath room items and glass and cup et

When I read the other reviews, admittedly I was hesitant because there was definitely a concern for safety. Having now stayed, the hotel is in prime location for venturing around New York and very easily accessible to everywhere. The concerns are because upon immediately exiting the train station (and we arrived late at night), it can feel as if you have walked straight into danger. This is an unfair representation of the area which basically, is a lot of locals simply living in an underfunded and poor community. The local white guy at the convenience store fiddled us whereas the looming black gangster said “good morning” whilst walking a beloved dog. Perception is a key component of whether you feel safe in this underprivileged area. Yes, there are safer areas which come with a hefty bill. Or there is this place where the convenience to exploring is top notch at basic prices, so long as you can forgo the noise and drama.

Air conditioning was fine. The room was on the small side but was fine due to the limited time I was there. The plastic around the mattress made it very noisy when moving. It was very noisy. Their was construction going on at the end of the block.

The neighbourhood is not the greatest, the hotel is nice, clean and new, but the water in the shower is just warm, and not hot, the staff is friendly but lacks on the attention to cleaning details- we found hairs in the towels and there was not enough shampoo/ body wash in the bathroom.

The room, towels, and sheets were full of hair. The elevator was extremely dirty — covered in fingerprints, dust, and grease — it clearly hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. The front desk staff were very unprofessional; the person who checked us in didn’t even activate our room key and didn’t know how to use the card terminal. When we checked out, we asked to store our luggage, and they charged us $20 USD with no receipt, was CASH ONLY and didn’t even label the suitcase. Really unacceptable.
