I picked this hotel specifically because it was close to the J train, which is convenient to get into Manhattan and to/from the airport. The location also has good restaurants and cafes nearby that is walkable.
My problem is with the hotel itself. Check-in time was at 3pm. We came from the airport in the morning and asked to store our luggage while we go and explore. We got back to the hotel at 4pm and was told our room was not ready and it would be a 20 minute wait. That was annoying because we purposely came back later so that our room would be ready. 20 minutes turned into 40 and I had to ask the staff what was the hold up? I was told it was still not ready. Finally, staff came to me and asked if I NEEDED a double room and if I wouldnt mind a queen/twin bed room for my son and I. I settled for the room since we were so tired from traveling and exploring for the day. The original room was on the 5th floor and now we are put in a room on the 2nd floor.
Later that night, after going to bed, we hear a DJ turn music on for a party in the attached lounge/bar area. This party lasted until 2am. So not only were we moved from the 5th floor original hotel room, we were given a room ABOVE a club area! This was not communicated to us at all.
The NEXT evening, there was no party below BUT there was chaos in the hallway on the 2nd floor, outside of our door with drunk customers. It was the worst 2 nights of sleep and sadly, my son's first time in NY.
