Weekend on Bourbon st

The service at the hotel was excellent. The employees went above and beyond to help you and make you feel welcome. Caleb the door man was exceptional. I’m not sure what a destination fee is ($25/nt), but there was no resort fee, which is what most other hotels charge. Overall a great experience right in the heart of the French quarter.

The entire property was beautiful and the staff were amazing! They were very accommodating and I will most definitely be staying at the Royal Sonesta anytime I am in town.

The Royal Sonesta was a great choice for our New Orleans trip!! Hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. The location on Bourbon street is a big plus. Loved having a balcony to people watch. Can be a little noisy at night (but that’s why you’re there!) We loved the pool and the number of restaurants on site. Would definitely stay here next trip. Thanks!

Awesome property. We got a balcony room for the experience and probably won't do that ever again. Zero noise suppression, which we expected so it wasn't too big of a surprise. I'd like to stay more in the courtyard area next time. Our room had no drainage so the bathtub/sink would fill up with shower/faucet water. We talked to some people and they said it's just the old plumbing around there. So we didn't even mention it to the staff. Either way, had a great time. Got to see the 49ers take another W.

So when i first checked in i was assigned to room 2116 and when i checked the balcony it was a side balcony not a bourbon balcony that i paid for through expedia. I went to the lobby spoke to the manager who looked to be very busy understanding given the weekend it was with the 49ers in town. They gave me another room 3112 which was dirty smaller ac didnt work and it still was not a bourbon balcony. We went back downstairs to get the original room back. Looking at the rates the bourbon balcony and side balcony are different and the bourbon balcony costs more. I shouldn't have to pay more for a room that costs less. I was not advised to call expedia about this matter by the manager. I was instructed by a staff front desk employee that I needed to contact expedia directly. Please if the manager and expedia could work together to make this right for me.
