Desk person was prickly and talked so fast, couldn't understand her, rattling off instructions, but never bothered to tell us we need a key for the elevator. Our room was actually .25 mile from the elevator and couldn't sleep past 5:00 a.m. because we were right over the loading dock. Pool area was nice but water wasn't heated so too cold to get in. I'll definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Overall, I and my husband, had a wonderful stay. We give staff thumbs up for cleanliness and neatness. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for serenity or balcony fun!!! If you haven't spent the night....you beta!!!

The hotel is rundown; the common areas are unclean; the elevator smelled; there were fake eyelashes glued on the elevator doors; the walls in the rooms had dents and scratches. Alarm woke us up at 3:30am telling us to go downstairs and not to use the elevator for an emergency. Then staff came over the intercom for like 5 minutes saying there was a malfunction or error with their alarm system to disregard. Scared me out of a dead sleep. They charge you some kind of extra fee of $25 a day plus tax that we were not expecting.

The Royal Sonesta in New Orleans is always a consistently great place to stay. This time was no exception. The staff are always welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for enjoying New Orleans.
