After booking this hotel, i visited it personally and was horrified of its condition. I personally told the manager to cancel my reservation and he acknowledged that he would cancel it. HE NEVER DID. This place is deplorable and not fit for human habitation.

We paid $124 for the night for a small, somewhat shabby, basement (downstairs) room with a king sized bed. When we stepped inside the room, there was a concrete step in the doorway which my wife tripped on. Normally, I would expect a room of this quality to cost $75-80. The bed was comfortable enough. The air conditioning / heater worked extremely well. The linens and towels were clean. And the bathroom toilet, sink, shower and tub were also clean. The rest of the room was not very clean, but it was ok for the night. I moved the light on the desk and had to wipe it and the underside of the lamp down where both were damp and dusty. I had to wipe up a little bit of water that I spilled on the floor in front of the bed and my paper towel was filthy. Fortunately, the floor was not carpeted. The coffee maker was not washed so we didn't make any there, but the mini fridge was acceptable. We could hear the people upstairs doing normal stuff like walking and moving luggage around and could hear their TV. But I was so exhausted, I slept well.

Older inn that appears to be well maintained. The room was neat and clean with most amenities in pricier hotels. Had problem with key card which was quickly resolved. Check in went smoothly and convenient drop box when leaving.

I stayed at Cheshire Welcome Inn for 3 weeks while in the area for work training. I appreciated the easy check-in & check- out & loved that the hotel was 10 min from where i needed to be. The first room i was nice with a king size bed. The second had a queen bed. Both rooms were very clean. However both rooms had neighbors who smoked and the smoke blew into my room thru the windows. The staff was nice and helpful when my tv went wonky and my key card was demagnetized.

I chose a non-smoking room, but the room absolutely reeked of stale cigarette smoke, and far more agrivating was whatever industrial chemicals they had tried (and failed utterly) to scrub that smell out with. Normally I am not that sensitive to cigaret smoke, I just don't like it. But here, the mix of heavy stale smoke and industrial chemicals had me coghing and feeling unwell just about any time I entered the room and for the next few hours afterwards until I finally acclimatized, which thankffully lasted until next reentry. After the first morning there was no longer any hot water for the shower ever. Mercifully if I turned the shower as hot as possible, the water got less cold, yet it never even reached luke warm. The room was reasonably quiet, but some noises made by neighboring guests at odd hours were surprisingly loud and jaring. To its credit, other than the intence cigarette smoke permantly adhered to the room, the room was otherwise very clean. Unfortunately I couldn't get the maids to clean the place or replace any of the consumables that were part of the room for the rest of my three day stay. Admittedly I never got a chance to talk to them directly, which might have fixed that, but it was clearly not something they were going to do without a direct intervention on my part.

The room was very clean, smelled fresh and it did not have any carpets which I very much so appreciated. Water pressure in the shower was strong, linens were crisp and towels were new. Location was convenient to everywhere I needed to be. I will definitely stay there again.

Extremely unsafe and unsettling room condition. All of the windows were left unlocked upon our arrival, and the peep hole—which was the size of a closed fist—was left loose and fell out upon closing the door leaving a gaping hole in the door. This hole could have easily been maneuvered to unlock the door from the inside, as the deadbolt was connected to the inside door handle and unlocked if you opened the door from the inside. This was all so very unsettling considering I am a female in my mid twenties and anyone that may have known about this could have accessed the room at any time. Grime (either a booger or worse yet, dried poop) was left on the toilet paper roll holder. The photos are very deceiving and make the space look much nicer than it actually is. We debated leaving in the middle of the night upon realizing the peep hole was insecure in addition to the windows being negligently left unlocked, leaving a screenless first floor opening that anyone could use to get inside. I highly do NOT recommend staying here.

It is always a pleasure to stay here. We return to the area (from Florida) once a year to visit w/family and friends. The hotel property is very clean, thoughtful layout of our room and amenities it offers: microwave and fridge; large mirror; ample clothes rack; desk/chair. I really like the long counter space in a separate area of room.
