Disappointing Stay Despite Loyalty This was by far one of my most unpleasant experiences with Holiday Inn, even though I’m a frequent customer and my husband is a Diamond/Elite member. I was placed in Room 105 on the first floor, which felt more like a basement. There was no privacy if I opened the window screen, but the room stayed dark if I kept it closed. Cleanliness was not up to standard — I found two hairs beside the microwave and had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom. The toilet had no aspirator or ventilation, which made it uncomfortable. Room 105 also faced an employee area, and I started hearing noise as early as 6:00–6:30 AM on the weekend. On top of that, other guests were frequently slamming their doors in the morning, making it hard to rest. It might be worth addressing the door noise somehow. The one redeeming part of the stay was that breakfast was fine and as expected and the area around the hotel is beautiful.
