We arrived in the evening, so we needed a code to get in. Giangi, the owner, very kindly sent us details well in advance of our arrival and even made a personalised video on how to get to our room. On the day, we were welcomed by a note on the door, which was a nice touch. The room was spacious and clean and it was very close to the relaxation room, where you could get free coffee and water. There was a TV, a double and a single bed, and generous wardrobe space.
Giangi is the perfect host, offering help and advice whenever needed. He is very knowledgeable, so there is no problem when asking him for suggestions on what to see in Naples and the surrounding area.
The hotel is not suitable for disabled people and those with mobility issues, as it is a very old building with no lift. This is made clear on the hotel's own website, but not mentioned when I booked on Expedia. My mother has mobility issues and struggled with the stairs, so thankfully, we were roomed on the lowest floor.
The hotel is on Via Foria, one of the main arteries in Naples. It is not a quiet road at all and it is best to ensure your windows are closed at night if you don't want to hear the constant stream of car horns. Be very careful when crossing the road near the hotel because drivers and moped riders have a habit of not stopping at crossings.
Breakfast is at the Bar Foria between 7am and 10am.
A wonderful experience!
