The Old Candle Shop is a period conversion in the centre of Moreton in Marsh. This Cotswold holiday home with a hot tub has been completed to the highest standard and is perfectly positioned to enable guests to explore the wider Cotswold region, or simply to spend an evening sampling pubs and restaurants in a traditional Cotswold setting. The property sleeps 4 guests, accommodated in two bedrooms, one with zip and link beds, and both benefiting from an en-suite. The stylish open plan living area boasts a wood burning stove, comfortable seating and dining areas along with a traditional, well equipped shaker style kitchen. Large bifold doors open onto an enclosed courtyard, complete with outdoor dining furniture, Jacuzzi hot tub, coal BBQ and parking for one car. This is also a dog friendly holiday home, welcoming one medium sized dog!

The Old Candle Shop is ideally situated near to shops, pubs and restaurants, this beautifully presented property makes for a perfect base from which friends, couples or families can explore the entire Cotswold region. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Family Christmas trip to Morton in Marsh, great location and lovely cottage

Great cottage, in a lovely location. Very well equipped with everything you need and more for a great stay. Done to a high spec, and bigger than it appears in the pictures. Cosy and comfortable lounge, with plenty of seating, and a lovely log burner which is great in winter months. The owners even went to the length of decorating for Christmas which was a lovely touch to our family holiday. Would definitely go back!

Fantastic accommodation with everything we needed. Loved the welcome pack and the coffee pods. Great location just off the High Street. Would provide a warning about the car port. I have a medium sized car and it was tight getting into the parking space. Would also have liked some walking guides.

For a 5 star rating,accommodation tired, lots of cobwebs also Main negative was we were cold, 18 degrees fixed for underfloor heating is nowhere near enough, no flexibility to increase, 7 logs for Woodburner gave us 2 hrs warmth!

Pre Christmas break

This was our second stay in The Old Candle Shop and it was as good as the first. It was spotless, it’s very comfortable and is very well equipped. The welcome pack is a nice touch and the hot tub a big bonus. The location is great - nowhere seems far. We visited Burford and its Garden Centre, Bibury, Broadway, Bourton-on-the-water, Chipping Campden, Cirencester and The Slaughters. We had a perfect evening meal at The Royal Oak in Ramsden - highly recommend. It was a little cool at times in the lounge as the radiators weren’t on and there was a very small amount of logs and kindling left for us. Despite these two minor issues, our stay was fabulous and we will definitely be back a third time!!

We had a wonderful time at the Old Candle Shop. The location is perfect and having space for a car was great for day trips. The space was clean and had all of the amenities we could need. Great for a family vacation. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus to use in the evening.

The Old Candle shop was a lovely place to stay. It is beautifully presented and well equipped. Although in the heart of Moreton in Marsh it is surprisingly private. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! Would love to stay again.

Gorgeous house & great location

The old candle shop is a beautiful house, & well equipped with all you need, including fans as we had a super hot weekends stay, upstairs bedrooms gets very very warm with the big glass windows. Great location to the town, & good having an electric charger for the car. Only disappointiment was a little bit more attention needed to the cleanliness of hot tub, we had to wipe all round the edges ourselves before use. Would definitely recommend house for a stay at Cotswolds!

Fantastic location

We stayed as a group of four adults at the property for a week at the end of September. The property is well equipped & stylishly decorated. The location is great just a 30 second walk to the high street where there are several eateries, cafes & supermarkets. All the pubs we visited severed great food. A couple of negatives, the property wasn’t as clean as I would expect it was dusty & grimey in places, appreciate it is the end of the season but think a deep clean was needed. Also I think it needed a bit of maintenance as two of the toilet seats were loose & several chipped plates mugs etc, having said that we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others.

Clean well maintained property, excellent location. Good to have hot tub, though there were no sterilising tablets to put in the water once used even though instructions ask you to put them in after you get out.

A great house to stay in a great location

We loved our stay at The Old Candle Shop. The house is very well equipped and we loved the treats and breakfast items left for us to enjoy. The garage is a real plus especially with the EV charging capability. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the hot tub was great too. We loved having a laundry (although laundry detergent and an outdoor clothesline or airer would be useful). Also while there is shower gel you need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The location is great - just off the main street so easy to go to Tesco, the pub or cafes nearby without a car. Also it is walking distance to the train station. It is in a quiet location and we felt very safe walking everywhere. The nearby villages are easy to reach by car and there are fantastic restaurants in the surrounding areas too.

A beautiful place to stay

We had a fantastic few days at The Old Candle Shop. The cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean. It also had absolutely everything anyone would need from milk and butter in the fridge to dog treats in the cupboard. Location-wise, the cottage is in the heart of Moreton-in-Marsh, just behind the High Street, with plenty of places to eat and drink. The walks were beautiful too! A perfect place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again, it was a real 'home from home' holiday.

sunny week in the cotswolds

the house is in an excellent location just off the high street. It also has the bonus of private parking. Tastefully furnished and decorated and everything we needed for our stay. Unfortunately both external doors have difficult locks and these should be rectified or additional information sent out in advance to guests. One Of the double beds is two singles and needs an additional mattress topper adding.

Lovely festive stay

We had a lovely stay at The Old Candle shop. Everything we needed was there for four of us, it was lovely done! We spent our evenings by the fire playing games and watching Christmas films. Location was great as we had everything we needed in the village but was easy to get to all the villages we wanted to visit too. It was also lovely having our own ensuite too and the piano was a nice touch. We would 100% stay again.
