A very quiet and classy old school hotel -- décor, furniture, carpeting, halls, walls, decorating, and front desk area felt comforting and welcoming. Same with the bar and restaurant - the bartender, I swear, had a vest and his name was probably Jeeves. The hotel, remarkably in the middle of the city, on an island in the Mississippi between Northeast and the city skyline, feels like a country house - flowers, the river flowing on both sides, trees and vines, several dining and night spots just across the little bridge and up the hill. Something out of the past.
