Positives; Central location as the Zócalo can be walked to within 15 minutes. Excellent staff who are willing to assist and enjoyed their gym with new equipment. Negatives; Very limited counter space to store belongings. Tiny trash cans that are practically useless. Noisy area with motorists honking their horns starting at 6am and loud motorcycles zooming by during sleep hours. Don’t get me started with the group that hangs out near the water fountains down the street. Drum beating until 11:00-11:30pm 3-4x a week.

The room has a door connecting with next door. We can smell next door guest smoking in the night. We had a lunch at the restaurant in hotel lobby. The clams are not fresh.

I had one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve ever encountered. When the air conditioner in my room malfunctioned and no longer produced cold air (error code U9-01, the staff refused to let me switch rooms and even accused me of moving the air conditioner—which was absurd. After a long back-and-forth, I finally managed to negotiate a smaller room, only to find that the air conditioner in that one was also malfunctioning with the exact same error Code U9-01. The temperature in my room was 24°C / 75°F, far too warm to sleep comfortably. It wasn’t until I threatened to check out that they finally offered me a room with a working AC. Poor customer service, no accountability, and a lack of basic hospitality. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting comfort or professionalism.

My room was clean, quiet and sunny. There was a work desk, with table light and above the desk were electrical outlets and a USB C outlet that provides fast charging for a smartphone. The in-room safe was big enough to store a 16-inch laptop, so my 13-in one fit with plenty of space still. The location was perfect for me as the hotel is very near 2 metro lines and the MetroBus 4(Sur) bus stop. Staying here was a great way for me to explore the Centro Histórico from Alameda (west) to Santísima Trinidad (east), Republica de Venezuela (north) to Izazaga (south). I felt safe walking about in the daytime. This Novotel is a very good 4-star property.
