The room is very clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful. There’s no AC, so we had to ask for a room change because it was too hot. The mattresses are old, still comfortable, but new, firm ones would be appreciated. The breakfast is good. Their garden is one of my favorite corners in Mexico City.

Be aware that rooms aren’t air conditioned which means taking a shower and turning on the fan before bed. The staff is ever helpful and thorough, and I’ve stayed at the María Cristina many times over the past 27 years. The restaurant is not fine but open for breakfast on national holidays when everything is closed. Several excellent breakfast restaurants (Peltre, look it up) are within a few blocks. If you’re a fan of walking as am I, you’re 1.7 miles or about 2.8 km from Palacio de Bellas Artes and the national art museum, similar distance to the museums in Chapultepec Park. Uber to the airport about 18 USD. The Metro is also cheap and convenient.
