We were assigned a room that was subpar (upstairs back unit). The bed was stiff and we could not enjoy a good nights sleep. It felt like sleeping on a bare table top. The bathroom had visible signs of prior water damage repairs (wood panel flooring where tile used to be). The floor near the bathroom entrance was soft and did not feel safe to walk on (we had to jump over it). It seems the previous water damage was not fully fixed. The toilet had numerous water leaks and drenched our clothes. Request to change rooms on the first day reporting the leak was denied by manger Paul due to “being fully booked.”
Staff was alerted for 4 days straight. We put towels to soak the water around the toilet, but leaks persisted. We had to endure these leaks for 4 days straight along with the smell of mold. On one night in particular the water was shut off and we couldn’t flush the toilet or wash our hands.
The manager kept stalling until we insisted on a new room. The moved us to a newer property across the street. The new room was finally adequate, with a comfortable bed and a working restroom. Unfortunately, this was only enjoyable for the remaining 2 days of our stay.
In total, 1 star for the facilities, but we appreciate the staff’s service as they tried to be as accommodating as possible, but the initial room fell short. They should condemn that room and properly repair it before assigning it to another guest.
