We really enjoyed this visit. Very nice accommodation and very well decorated!
This was such a great find when looking to stay near the brecon beacons, great location and close to everything you’d need during your stay.
The room was spotless and beautifully decorated and everything necessary is provided. The check in process was also hassle free.
Overall very worth a visit and very fairly priced.
We booked a night in The Rafters. Beautiful clean studio with living area on one side, bed on the other and small table to dine in the middle. Bathroom with shower. A kitchen to the side with all that is needed for a stay plus some milk in the fridge and welshcakes which was such a lovely little touch! We had a fabulous stay and if we’re ever in the area would be happy to stay again! ⭐️
We were here for a few days to explore this part of Wales. This house with self-catering rooms was ideal for our stay.
A short walk away is a wonderful cafe with fresh baked goods and a nice espresso.
The town centre is a short distance down the hill where there are a few pubs, shops and restaurants.
There are some great hiking opportunities nearby as well.
Great little studio flat. Perfect for 2 people. Kitchen well equipped, great hair dryer, lovely towels, comfy bed, great all round apartment. Didn’t bother me but 2 flights of stairs into the rafters of the house for anyone with mobility issues. Very comfortable, wound stay again.
Lovely place, would definitely stay again, only other thing I would highlight is that there is no oven, the shower is tight and the sofa is not very comfortable, but that’s it!!
I will be staying again!!
Beautiful house, I wish I could have stayed longer. Bed was very comfortable and the Mountain View was a great touch. Lives all of the cute decor. Will definitely be back. The Welsh cakes were tasty too.
The room was absolutely beautiful and was very impressive coming into the building. The views were great and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was a ladybird infestation which was a bit concerning but nonetheless, the room was brilliant and well worth the money.
It was a lovely stay, just one night before a day at bike park wales.
I was told to leave the bike in the hall way and it was fine there.
Parking was tight with a bike rack on so i dropped it to get the car over as far as i could.
The room was beautifully decorated, bed comfy, shower amazing and the whole place was quiet.
Overall it was a good stay, spacious bedroom. James is a nice person and he maintains his place really well.
We got some complimentary welsh cakes and some milk on day 1, which was nice. One star less - as the kitchen and bathroom is opposite to the bedroom and where we had to walk thorugh an open corridor. (open to next door person, so need to be careful from bathroom or kitchen) Also parking inside the property was bit of a struggle, if any vehicles inside. Overall it was a good stay.
Fantastic property and excellent communication with the owners.
Stayed in the studio and the fact you have the whole of the 2nd floor to ourselves we didn’t mind so much that the kitchen and bathroom where a few steps across the hall.
Left us a little gift of Welsh cakes which was a lovely touch.
Had emails with recommendations on places to go, drink and eat which I think was a great touch.
Would stay at this property again and would also look in to the other properties they have.
James’ Place in the Rafters is as cosy and spacious in person as in the photos. The decorative touches and comfortable furnishings, bed included, make this studio a very unique and pleasant place to stay.
As stated in the listing- a car is a must and the room is not accessible for anyone with mobility issues (steep narrow stairs).
