The staff was very friendly and courteous, the breakfast was pretty good for the price, and the location was excellent and super convenient for exploring Mérida. Our only real complaint is that the roof pool area didn’t look like the pictures and the hotel in general looked a bit rundown and in need of cleaning/maintenance. Nothing extreme and we still enjoyed our stay, but it is disappointing when photos of a property are a bit deceiving.

The place was beautiful and very elegant overall. That said, I do want to mention the beds. For the price of the room, I expected a much more comfortable mattress and pillows. The bed had very hard springs, which made it difficult to sleep, and I ended up waking up with back pain. A hotel should feel like a home away from home, and good sleep is a big part of that. Upgrading to memory foam or at least a hybrid mattress would make a huge difference. Comfort is really what guests are paying for, and I hope this is something that can be improved.

The assigned room was 321. We had several issues with the bathroom: The sink had a leak that travels to the side of it! The water was NEVER hot, lukewarmth at is best. We contacted the front desk. They sent someone to "inspect" it. He did nothing. This issue was never resolved. The shower was fine. The front desk staff was always polite but were disappointed with the room. Will never stayed there again.

It's an excellent location in middle of the historical centre though blink and you'll miss the entrance to the hotel: look up to see the hotel name. A couple notes: VERY firm beds. I had to buy a supplementary foam cushion from Walmart, which is around the corner. Also, 1 side of the hotel (east) faces the inner patio/courtyard which hosts public singing performances, which last until about 11pm, so if you're an early sleeper, request a room that faces west.

The place is very clean and nice, however they have the worse service ever, which made the experience a really bad one. They gave us a two beds room when we paid for a King and to give us the right one they took over an hour and we lost our dinner reservations and a wedding rehearsal dinner. Once we were in the right room some people were trying to come into our room and turns out they were given THE SAME ROOM! Just a terrible experience. And then we were trying to rest and housekeeping where super loud slamming the doors and all their cleaning supplies since 7:00 am. Just terrible.
