The twin beds were comfortable. I appreciated the level of security requiring a keycard to proceed on the elevators. Location in the city was very good, walking distances to lots of sights and some really good dining.
Housekeeping was not consistent. We were there for 7 days and I don’t think our carpets were vacuumed once. Sometimes trash emptied, sometimes not. Sometimes dirty cups and glasses replaced, sometimes not. Towels were exchanged everyday, except for one day, that posed a problem until guest services were able to have them replaced.
Housekeeping did not return glassware and ice containers to the restaurant associated with the hotel, so we had to….to give ourselves room at the small coffee station in the room.
The in-house bar (Vics) was closed 4 of our 7 days there.
The in-room smoke detector failed (Rhythmic chirp) at a most inopportune time. Repair was attempted, but unfortunately it failed again shortly thereafter, but at a more reasonable hour and it was left disabled until our departure, thankfully. Guest services did provide reasonable amends for our annoyances.
Too many shortcomings at the Victoria Hotel for me to give a great recommendation.
