Great location, super clean and well equipped. Really enjoyed my stay here. One small quibble - why do hotels still put all the lights ON after cleaning the room?? Seems like such a stupid thing to do when we are all trying to be more thoughtful about energy use. Wifi only average.

While the location of the hotel is great, the service received and the amenities of the hotel rooms left a lot to be desired. Our TV stopped working halfway through our stay, and so we packe dup and moved rooms, and then the TV in the next room didn't work straightaway either. The shower drain in the new room was blocked and caused water to back up and spill over the rest of the bathroom floor. Although this was apparently fixed by maintenance, it continued to happen the next night. Wasn't very impressed when it was suggested that I could go down to the hotel gym and use once of those showers as an alternative. I requested the key to my old room and used that shower on one of my nights. And to top it all off, I got double-charged for my room by their booking system, so paying two charges of over $1,000 onto my credit card. You need to lift your game guys. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time - not worth the hassle.

We couldn’t fault this hotel - we had the perfect stay! We love Doubletree hotels, which are consistently good, but this one exceeded our expectations for an overnighter en route to Sydney. The location is amazing: directly across the road from Flinders Street Station and only a moment’s walk to the river, cafes, shopping malls and parks. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and our room was spacious and really well designed. The bed was divinely comfortable and we slept incredibly well. A standout feature of the hotel is its staff. In particular, we appreciated Gregor, Catie and Madi at the front desk, all of whom were friendly, good-humoured, helpful and professional. We can’t recommend this hotel enough, including the restaurant (where we had a delicious dinner and an excellent breakfast). We strongly recommend Doubletree by Hilton Flinders Street Melbourne and look forward to returning soon!
