A very cool boutique hotel right in the heart of Manila, the leafy, bohemian part of el poblado, arguably the best part of Medellín to stay. Great restaurants, bars and coffee shops abound in the neighbourhood. Our room was spacious, stylishly decorated and even included a partial kitchen. There is a fair bit of nighttime noise from the rooftop bar, but it didn’t hamper our sleep at all. Tourist tips: a walking tour of Communa 13 is a must - really fascinating - as is a visit to the Botero museum and square if you have any interest in art. The Museo Casa de Memoria, despite its potential, was a real disappointment and could easily be missed.
