North Cascades Riverhouse retreat - hot tub, sauna
Slow down, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and let the rhythmic sounds of the Skagit River wash over you. The North Cascades Riverhouse Retreat is a masterclass in cozy, modern-rustic living. Perfectly blending sleek mid-century design with high-end cabin comfort, this 1-bedroom, 1-bath sanctuary is designed for those looking to unplug, recharge, and immerse themselves in the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you’re wrapping yourself in plush cotton blankets by the warm glow of the gas fireplace, losing yourself in a book in the sun-drenched reading nook, or sipping local coffee with panoramic views of the river and the dramatic peaks of Lookout Mountain, every corner of this home whispers relaxation.
The Space
The Bedroom: A serene primary bedroom featuring a plush queen-size bed wrapped in premium linens.
The Living Room: Bright and stylish, equipped with a comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa to accommodate up to 4 guests total.
The Kitchen & Dining: A fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher) features a dedicated coffee and tea bar to start your mornings right.
Indoors Entertainment: A 50` smart TV, a workspace for creative inspiration, and a collection of board games and puzzles for cozy nights in.
Outdoor Oasis & Wildlife Watching
Step out onto the expansive wrap-around deck, your front-row seat to the best of the Cascade ecosystem. The Skagit River flows right past your doorstep, backed by sweeping mountain vistas.
Wild & Scenic: Keep your eyes peeled and your binoculars ready. It’s common to spot bald eagles soaring overhead, deer grazing in the mist, and occasionally, a black bear foraging safely across the riverbank.
The Rituals: After a day of exploring, step into your private outdoor sauna to sweat away the stress, transition into the bubbling 4-person hot tub under a blanket of stars, and cap off the night roasting s`mores at the riverfront firepit (firewood provided).
The Location
Adventure is closer than you think. You are a mere 2 minutes from the historic mountain town of Marblemount and just 13 minutes from the entrance of North Cascades National Park. Hike world-class trails, fish the world-renowned Skagit, or launch a kayak down-river in nearby Rockport.
Good to Know: Location & Amenities
Marblemount is the charming last stop for services before you head over the mountain pass.
Local Dining: Walk or drive 2 minutes to Marblemount’s two local staples: Mondo’s and The Upriver Taproom & Grill. (Note: Hours change seasonally, so please check ahead!)
Supplies: The town features a hotel, a post office, and two gas stations for basic provisions. For full grocery or hardware stores, stop in Concrete or Sedro-Woolley on your way up. Larger superstores are located about 75 minutes west in Mount Vernon or Burlington.
Seasonal Travel & Access
Winter Travel: Highway 20 typically closes between late October/mid-November and reopens around April/May. During winter months, Marblemount is only accessible from the west. Because of mountain snow, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended in winter. Feel free to message us for live road conditions!
Guest Access & Property Layout
Arrival: Easy, seamless keypad entry on the front door. The lock engages automatically when closed, so you never have to worry about keys.
Parking: Large driveway with parking for 2–3 vehicles. There is space to park a small boat or trailer, though note that backing out or turning around with a trailer can be tight.
Laundry: A separate laundry room with its own keypad lock is accessed from the exterior of the home. We gladly provide laundry soap and dryer sheets for your convenience.
Safety Note: Guests have full, unrestricted access to the property. Because we are directly on the water, please keep a close eye on small children and pets, and always exercise caution near the river’s edge.
1. For health and safety reasons, all guests must shower before using the hot tub. This is required to keep the water clean and properly maintained during your stay.
2. Smoking, vaping, and marijuana use are strictly prohibited indoors. Any violation of this policy will result in a $500 fine
3. Confetti and glitter are strictly prohibited.
4. Do not tamper with the smoke alarms or the wireless router. Maintaining these systems is essential for your safety and the home`s connectivity; any interference with these devices will result in a $500 fine.
4. Pet policies (Read further if you`re planning to bring a pet):
We love our furry guests! To ensure the house stays in top shape for everyone (including those with allergies), we ask that you follow these `Paws-itive` rules:
• We welcome up to 2 well-behaved pets. Please let us know the breed and size of your pet(s) when booking.
• Furniture & Bedding: We ask that pets stay off the furniture and beds. If your pet is a `cuddler,` please use the designated pet blankets provided to protect the linens.
• Paw Policy: Please use the grey `Paw Towels` located by the door to wipe muddy paws before entering the house.
• No `Home Alone` Pets: For the safety of your pet and our neighbors, please do not leave pets unattended in the home unless they are secured in a crate.
• Yard Cleanup: Please pick up after your pet immediately. Waste bags are provided in the kitchen area.
• Damage & Accidents: We understand accidents happen! Please notify us immediately so we can treat stains properly. Excessive cleaning or damage to furniture/flooring will be charged to the guest.
• Flea/Tick Prevention: All pets must be up-to-date on flea and tick prevention before arrival.
