Stayed in the presidential suite and I was super impressed! The hotel isnt like one if those cookie cutting franchise hotels. It definitely has its own personality. The bed was also so much more comfortable than any bed I have ever slept in. Really great experience for the price.

We liked staying at this property and we added an additional because we liked this old well kept hotel from the 1800’s. Do not depend on breakfast it was the minimum and there was coffee available all the time down stairs, would have been better to have hot chocolate and tea available. But we still enjoyed our stay and would easily stay again

The hotel is wonderful. The only thing I would recommend is that they don't get us breakfast from Walmart and invest in more name brand yogurts and other breakfasts to match the vibe of the hotel.

The Decker Hotel is an amazing place. Like going back in history. The antique decor and old pictures of the place are great. We had a spacious room with a jacuzzi and a four-poster king size bed. Located right in downtown Maquoketa and walking distance to shops, restaurants and the brewery.

It's a fine place to stay for a night. Clean and quaint. The bed was comfortable but the chairs are all old and the padding has deteriorated. Bring a hair dryer. And games, there's not a lot to do there.

One would choose to stay here for the charm and experience of being in an old hotel. We got kind of a "double room" on the 3rd floor which was fine AND the elevator worked great. The owner was quite attentive and helpful.

The breakfast was nothing very special-granola bars, bananas, cold cereal and no coffee. The manager was very friendly and always asking if everything was ok. A unique, over 100 year old hotel, beautiful lobby and woodwork everywhere.

There was moldy food in the shared fridge in the hall way, peeling wall paper everywhere and the entire building doesn’t look maintained at all. As a single woman traveling I was very uncomfortable and left as early as I could in the morning.
