The Monache is our favorite Hotel in Mammoth Lakes. The staff is great and the rooms are small but very nice. The fitness facility isn’t anything to brag about but that’s just being nit picky. The one thing we absolutely did not enjoy was the Whitebark Restaurant. The interior is a mix of cafeteria and fine dining which is weird and the overall feel is more like a IHOP than a high end restaurant. They were out of a lot of food options, the service was slow and the prices did not match the quality or taste of the food. We won’t be eating there again. Other than that, this is a first rate property.

I was very disappointed. It started with the hotel room doors not opening. The family had to do multiple trips back to the lobby. I was told to kick the door or slam the door back and forth. Throughout the stay, door was a consistent issue even when opening from the inside the room. A potential safety issue in case of an emergency. Second, be prepare to wait for the elevator. Do not be surprised if you have to wait 4-5 cycles before getting in to the elevator specially during check in/ check out peak time. If you are not with cranky kids or with an elderly, take the stairs, even from the 7th floor, as that might be the fastest way down. 3rd, I believe it was a delivery van that was causing a beeping noises (beeps when commercial vehicles are in reverse). This started around 6am and continued on for more than 30 minutes. Overall, i would pick a different hotel in our next trip.

Our stay at The Westin Monache Resort in Mammoth was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is in a prime location, just steps from the Village with its shops, dining, and gondola access, making it incredibly convenient whether you’re skiing in winter or hiking in summer. Our suite was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a cozy fireplace and a well-equipped kitchenette — perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The bed was, as expected with Westin, heavenly. We also loved the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, which were especially nice with the mountain views. The on-site dining was excellent, and breakfast in particular was fresh and satisfying. Staff were warm, welcoming, and professional, always ready to help with recommendations or logistics. Parking was easy, and the property felt well cared for throughout.

This property is steps away from the village which is convenient to eating/drinking/shopping as well as central to transportation around the whole area. We were also very impressed with the dog friendliness of the hotel. Almost every time we got onto the the elevator, at least one dog was riding with us (not including ours).
