Accurate but No Frills
The property had the essential elements that I was seeking for 3 nights in Madrid: it was clean, it had appliances for cooking meals at home, it had WiFi, and it was conveniently near a Metro location-- even if it is a bit out of Madrid Central. (But I knew that.) However, there were notable convenient elements missing that I have encountered at 100% of the vrbos I have booked before. While the appliances were present, there were no filters for the coffee machine, no single quantities of detergent for the washing machine, and after showering I had to use a mop to collect water on the floor (which was conveniently located nearby). A traveler like me does not have the easy access to these items so I could not use the laundry. Also, the apartment is situated immediately next to a garage gate that is extremely loud opening and closing-- while these usually only happened in late afternoon or early evening and sometimes in the early morning the sound was very distracting. Finally, upstairs my neighbors had a party very early in the morning that did not end until 5:00 am. This is probably a rare event, but I felt that they might be residents. While the apartment has the essentials, I did not rest as well as I might have expected to in a VRBO. In my opinion the setting should be superior to a hotel room for the cost involved. It was just fine for me, a signle traveler.
