The a/c was broken in the first suite that I paid a ton of money for, so they had to downgrade me to a suite on the first floor with a much worse view. That a/c was also barely working. It was so hot and almost impossible to sleep. On our second to last day, the power went out at the entire resort for about 3 hours. It was wild, I’ve never seen that at a resort before. The food and service was mediocre at best, which is being nice about. I will say they did have some good nightlife and activities during the day. Definitely a party resort; definitely NOT a luxury experience, no matter how much money you spend on the suite you book.

At face value this is a beautiful resort with lovely ocean views. However, the beauty stops there. We upgraded to the best room and it was dated with zero air conditioning. We tried to resolve the issue and were told someone would come up and fix the issue. The person who came to our room, got into our safe and stole my credit card information and used it by the next morning. Not only did they not fix the A/C or offer to move us rooms, but they stole over $300 from me. RIU made no attempts to rectify the situation and told me to call my bank. I know this place looks nice, but please be wary of theft and poor service.

When tile is wet it is slippery I fell down 6 stairs going towards Riu party area Seen ppl falling around pool area

One of the best hotel stays!

The staff were amazing and very attentive. The food was okay however there were too many flies. I think they need to put up fly traps or something because it was inside around the buffet a lot of the time. Other than that I highly recommend the hotel.
