Booked a non-refundable 5 night stay here but the hotel and room were disappointing enough to where I booked the Sofitel LA for 5 nights nearby within an hour of arriving late at night. For some reason there was plastic all on the floors in the hallways with an unpleasant smell in the halls and room. A safe in the room couldn't be closed, it kept opening probably due to the tilt of the room and would have required me to pay to activate it just to close it. Overall it just didn't the expectations I had when I made the booking and forced me to pay for another 5 night stay elsewhere, but the front desk staff at the time was helpful given the situation.

The Elan has a very kind staff. We were chosen as guest of the day and they made it so special. It’s a great location especially if you have appointments in town. Very nice room and it was quiet!

It was a great & wonderful stay, as soon as we arrived, Oscar, the general manager welcomed us, he was really very helpful , very kind and very professional. He did all his best to make our stay comfortable, he gives us the room very quickly, so we could rest after our trip. The room was clean, and had all we need. Yes I really recommend the Elan hotel and many thanks to Oscar for his kindness

Quite charming little boutique hotel in Hollywood. Welcoming and "compact". Underground parking but not inexpensive! Happy Hour with nice wines an unexpected bonus.

My room was situated right next to the lobby. It was 11 o’clock at night. The music in the lobby was so loud. The person in the front desk was whistling, talking to employees and loud voice is very hard to sleep.

They charge an extra $20 a night, separate from your hotels.com booking. They say this is for WiFi and other services. This makes it difficult and annoying when doing your expense reports. They require this charge when you make your deposit

It was a nice little hotel but the phone in the room did not have wires to plug it in so was useless the floors needed to be mopped not just dry mopped no parking for larger vehicles plus the surprise charges when you check in

The Elan Hotel was part of my LA trip, and it turned out to be a great choice. I managed to do so much in such a short stay — checked in close to midnight and checked out almost at midnight the next day! The location is excellent — close to Beverly Hills, within walking distance of The Grove and Beverly Center, and just a short Uber ride to the Hollywood Bowl or Santa Monica. The room was perfect: clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The staff was friendly and professional, and they went above and beyond when I realized I had left a medicine in the fridge — they kept it refrigerated for five days until I returned to LA. Truly great service, an unbeatable location, and a wonderful experience overall. Would definitely stay again.

The front desk staff was so nice, and I loved the perks that came with being "guest of the day". But the fire alarm went off repeatedly during the night and the elevator to the parking garage was out of order. So lots of complications for a one night stay.
