After 10 years and 3 bookings a year, this was far and away our worst stay — and we stayed two weeks. The listing photos were also misleading.The Good — Nicely located basement flat in Kensington, equidistant to Earl's Court and Gloucester Rd tube stations. Arriving early from JFK, the property manager guided us to nearby luggage storage and got us in by 2PM.The Bad — Front entrance unswept, trash outside, dirty floors and furniture throughout. Gnats on arrival, likely tied to standing water under the kitchen sink; moldy teacups and pan; non-functioning microwave; no cooling fans on arrival (came day 4); no ice cube trays or hand towels. No bathroom floor mats, and frequent spiders/webs (especially in the master bathroom) meant buying bug spray. The patio, a key reason we booked, was filthy — not tidied, moldy cushions, algae on torn shade, and rat droppings on the grill.The Ugly — Not shown in listing: the ensuite is an all-in-one wet room (toilet, shower, sink within arm's reach) with a musty smell. Second bedroom is tight, with a fully detached electrical socket (dangerous given UK 220V). Washing machine gasket was filthy, requiring deep cleaning before use. A dryer was promised; only a broken rack was provided, replaced days before departure. Bed had a ripped duvet and old sheets.Overall — Great location, but cleanliness, maintenance, and listing accuracy fell well short. We would not stay again or recommend this property.
