Really disappointing experience overall, especially considering we paid over $100 per night. Our room was located on the lowest level of the hotel—essentially the basement. While the rest of the property smelled heavily of air freshener, our section had a strong sewage-like odor. The source appeared to be black mold, which was visible throughout the bathroom: on the walls, in the tile grout, and even on the shower curtain. This felt like a genuine health concern.
Additionally, the hotel requires guests to leave their room key at reception when going out. One evening, the staff member on duty disappeared for about 30 minutes, leaving me locked outside in the cold. I was only able to get in because my partner was in the room; otherwise, I would have been stuck waiting. We then had to continue waiting for the staff member to return just to retrieve our key.
After checking out, both of us became ill. We can’t say definitively it was caused by the hotel, but considering the conditions, it’s hard not to wonder.
Overall, given the price and the state of the room, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
P.S. Wifi was awful, if that factors into your decision.
