We were booked into the central but were moved to the royal eagle as the central were not going to have electricity for half of our stay. We had booked full English breakfast but the royal eagle only do continental breakfast. Not informed of this till I phoned day before travel. Customer service is atrocious. Sent numerous messages and not had a reply to any. They quick to take your money but not courteous enough to answer your messages.

Overall, the reception staff were friendly and helpful from the time I arrived until I checked out. The hotel’s location is very convenient, as it is close to both the tube and bus stops. However, the room and interior of the hotel need significant improvement. The bathroom design was poorly thought out—the shower has no enclosure, causing water to spill everywhere, and although the sink looks modern, it is very impractical. Despite daily housekeeping, the room still felt dirty; the bed was made, but the sheets were not changed. Additionally, the hotel is currently under construction, so there was loud banging noise in the mornings. The soundproofing is also inadequate, as noise from the hallway can be clearly heard. Despite these issues, I enjoyed my stay, but I would probably choose another hotel next time.

Everything was great. Comfortable bed, clean room, very spacious, customer service was excellent. The only reason why I’m giving 4/5 is the shower didn’t have a door which made it hard to shower without splashing water. Breakfast was worth it, good variety and tasty!

Good location near district and central lines, and easy access to shops and cafes. Staff was unfriendly at check-in and seemed very disorganized. The room was small but clean and I think recently renovated, but the shower doesn’t have a door so water goes everywhere (would be good to at least have a squeegee in the bathroom so it’s possible to clean). The room is definitely not soundproof, everyone walking through the hallways can be easily heard through the door, bring earplugs.

Very disappointed. When asked if I could be far away from the construction noise I was told that I wouldn’t hear it since I was on the 6th floor. Guess what. They were right outside of my window with what sounded like a jackhammer first thing every morning. When asked if I could get another room was told the hotel was fully booked.
