1/5 stars — I would give zero stars if I could. To call Bob W. Hyde Park a hotel would be a stretch of the imagination. This is a hostel masquerading as a hotel — the Ryanair equivalent of accommodation. Let's start with the marketing: whoever they hired to photograph this place is clearly very talented, because the hotel in the photos looks genuinely lovely. The hotel you actually experience is the IKEA version of that. Bare bones, cramped rooms with very little space, and not particularly clean — upon arrival, I spent over an hour re-cleaning my room before I could settle in. The beds are uncomfortable, and I spent most nights awake. The windows are poorly insulated, so wind slamming against them kept me up throughout the night. And the walls are paper-thin — you can hear every single thing said in the hallway or the room next to you. If you sneeze in this place, they'll charge you for it. The staff are polite but completely unhelpful — they rarely answered the phone, ignored requests, and when they did respond, the answer was usually that something costs extra. Including, it turns out, daily cleaning. This was never clearly disclosed upfront — perhaps buried somewhere in the fine print — but it was not something I was aware of when I booked. Had I known, I would have chosen a different hotel entirely. Instead, I used the same towels for the entire week. All of this might be forgivable if it were priced and marketed honestly as a hostel. It is not. I wish I never went.

At first i thought the lack of an inhouse restaurant would bother me but worked really well. The staff were all friendly & helpful. The room was comfortable, spacious & well designed/furnished. The location was so handy for everything we had planned to do, being on the Central Line was ideal for us. Great value for what was on offer, we will certainly consider another stay.

The room was nice. It was small but they clearly state the size so you know before you book. The floors in the bathroom are heated and the shower is nice. Staff was very friendly and it is conveniently located near several tube stations. We really enjoyed our stay.

Location is I deal with easy access to transportation and shops/restaurants. The room was cozy and outfitted with necessary amenities of good quality. The building was recently acquired by Bob W and renovations were ongoing but the hotel was clean, perfectly functional and habitable, and the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable. My room was slightly overly warm overnight but opening the window for a little while usually corrected the temperature imbalance.

Convenient place to stay, Kensington Gardens across the road. 8 minute walk from Queensway tube station (Central Line) 12 minute walk from Paddington. Shops and cafes nearby. clean room good shower. No reception, but quick response to email/messaging services. Free luggage storage lockers are available. Note: not explained in booking - if booking through a third party, e.g. Expedia, door release code is not given until payment has gone through. This is normally on the morning of the booking rather than 24 hour before as shown.
