The staff were helpful. There was a mix up with our breakfast on the morning of our check-out. It is a very beautiful hotel and wonderful location. It was difficult to reach the vending machines when needing a drink / snack... your key only accesses your floor / lobby / parking .. which is nice for safety. Also on our check-out day the maid entered our room at about 8am.. just opened the door enough for us to yell we were in there.. I didn't appreciate it... but all the front desk said was sorry. They said they didn't have record we were in the room.. which explains the breakfast not being delivered too. :( But we had another stay a few days later before flying out and all went smoothly and our dinner was great that evening. Very nice bar / restaurant too.

It was excellent. Friendly staff, special thanks to Sophie at the front desk who gave us so much advice on where to go and how to get there. The whole hotel was very clean, Award-winning breakfast and Darragh kept the buffet running smoothly.Really liked that nothing was disposable. We had a lovely quiet room, with a shower and a separate bath.Only issue was we arrived on foot from the bus station and there’s no ramp at the front, just steps, the ramp is at the back close to the drop off. Great views of the river.

Nestled along the banks of the Shannon River, The Strand Hotel in Limerick is a true gem and my preferred sanctuary in Ireland. It masterfully combines an unbeatable location with impeccable service. From its exceptionally clean and charming environment to its staff—who radiate a blend of warm Irish hospitality, keen knowledge, and genuine helpfulness—every detail feels carefully considered. The city center is a mere two-minute stroll away, making it effortless to explore on foot. A standout feature is the secure underground garage, (at a cost of twelve euro a day) which offers direct, private access to every floor, allowing you the freedom to come and go with ease. Coupled with its wonderful food and outstanding overall service, The Strand Hotel is, without a doubt, Ireland's premier choice for an unforgettable and affordable stay.

I did not like that access to the underground parking required making a telephone call in order to be admitted after dark. It does not feel safe. There should be a buzzer system in place. This would definitely be a deal breaker for me in the future.

A bit dated property. Very small shower with the shower head to loose to hold its position. The shower doors often coming out of its railings. Air conditioning not working. WiFi internet extremely slow 4-7Mbps so nearly unusable. Curtains a bit broken, unable to get the room dark. Probably won’t stay here again. However, some of the staff (not the managers or supervisors, but lower rank employees) were very friendly and helpful!

The room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the river. But the balcony was so odd. All of the balconies are enclosed, encased in glass. Totally claustrophobic. When you step out of the room onto the beautifully furnished balcony, it is hot, noisy (like an echo chamber) everyone can hear everyone else’s conversations. And what’s worse, you can see your neighbors, they are right there! The service wasn’t great. Just okay. It took about 30 minutes for us to have some teabags delivered and our room wasn’t cleaned in a timely manner (or well). The front desk staff was not welcoming or very helpful at all. In fact they were kind of smug. All that being said, I would definitely stay there again. Parking was easy, the fish and chips in the restaurant were really good, it has a great view and the location was perfect.
