I give five stars to this place the traditional Japanese house experience is perfect however, if you’re traveling with your kid, you may not choose a traditional room because it’s just mattresses on the floor. There is no seating place or other spaces if you would like to experience, how is a Japanese traditional house feels like that’s your place

This was the most spacious apartment. We had 6 adults and had room to move which was great. Beds were comfy and there was everything you needed. Check in is self serve so just have to work that out and you are all good to go.

Our stay at the Ebisuya was fantastic! We stayed in the large room with the king size bed and additional beds in the tatami room. My son loved the tatami space and said it was extremely comfortable. The room was super clean, and the in room washer/dryer was a huge bonus for us. The bathroom was lovely with a huge bathtub, and a waterfall shower, we loved taking turns soaking after a long day of walking. The location was perfect, 10 min walk from the busy downtown center of Kyoto but the hotel felt so quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful with great local recommendations as well. Highly recommend staying here if you’re going to Kyoto.

We had a wonderful stay at the Machiya Ebisuya. It's a bit far from Kyoto Station but still walkable, and really central to much they Kyoto has to offer. The room and amenities were great.
