Glad to have spent our anniversary at Hotel Monterey Kyoto. Facilities were great with the use of the baths for all guests. We wished that guests could still access the baths on the day of check out since staying there for numerous days. The cleaners were helpful and delivered new towels when we requested it.

This hotel is beautiful inside and the room was much bigger than we expected. Family Mart is right next door so I cannot stress how convenient that was to my family. Close to bus and subway, close to the main shopping street. The old part of Kyoto was very close too. I would stay here again next time I visit.

The property and area is fine but the front staff/ attendants are not very nice almost seems to be discriminating. When you go ask the front desk staffs for help or service, they don’t take an effort to help you, just replies quickly to get rid of you.

Hotel Monterey is very close to a train station which made it super convenient as my family of four each had a carry bag plus backpack. Train station is only a couple minutes away. Hotel has a great mineral pool and sauna for guests to use that I was not aware of, so it was a really nice surprise. Kyoto was our favorite town on our trip. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The detox water was very nice in the afternoons and you also get a free adult beverage in the spa lounge between 3-6pm. Stay here and enjoy!!
