Our farmhouse sits on five acres in the Similkameen Valley, a few minutes outside Cawston. It's a place to slow down: finish the chapter, write the last songs on the album, or just sleep in and read by the window.
There's a real desk in the office, a long table by the French doors, an upright piano and a drum kit in the living room, and a big picture window looking out on the yard and the mountains. Bring your laptop, your guitar or nothing at all.
It's best for one or two people, four at most. A few friends over for dinner is lovely. Parties and events aren't what this house is for.
THE HOUSE
- Bedroom 1: queen bed, window onto the yard
- Spare room: double sofa bed
- Office: desk and chair, Wi-Fi on a fibre business line
- Living room: big window, upright piano, drum kit, armchairs, ceiling fan
- Dining room: vaulted ceiling, table for six, French doors to the deck
- Full kitchen
- Bathroom: tub with shower, skylight, heat lamp
- Fir floors throughout, electric heat and a heat pump for cooling, wood fire for heat as well (only available for those with prior experience with one)
OUTSIDE
Deck off the dining room, a fire pit, a big lawn, an old barn, and orchards all around. More stars than you've seen in a while.
GETTING HERE
Keremeos is 10 minutes for groceries and the fruit stands. Osoyoos and Penticton are each under an hour, and Similkameen wineries are close by. You'll want a car.
GOOD TO KNOW
- 5-night minimum, booked at least a week ahead so we can get the house ready for you
- Check in after 4 pm, out by 11 am. Self check-in; we send the details a few days before you arrive
- Up to 4 guests overnight. No parties or events
- Quiet hours 10 pm to 7 am
- No smoking or vaping inside
- No pets of your own, sorry
- It's a working farm valley: tractors and sprayers run in season, so stay out of the orchard rows
- It's bear country, so garbage stays inside until it goes out
- $1,000 fully refundable damage deposit
We split our time between here and Toronto now, and we'd rather the house be lived in than sit empty. Tell us a little about yourself and what you're hoping to do with the time.
