Kona Farm Stay - Amazing Ocean and Sunset Views
Kona Farm Stay is perched above a working Kona coffee farm, this light-filled classic Hawaiian Hick's farm home invites you into the living, breathing rhythm of island life. From the moment you arrive, your senses are met with expansive ocean views, lush tropical flora, and skies that transform into unforgettable sunsets each evening.
The home is bright, open, and breezy, with large windows and an expansive covered ocean-facing lanai that invite you to slow down and take it all in. Rest, nap or meditate on the outdoor sofa, and enjoy your meals in the open air. Morning coffee tastes better here. Evenings glow with color as the sun dips into the sea. At night, the sky opens into an exquisite canopy of stars.
Inside, the living and dining areas are thoughtfully styled with an eclectic mix of Bauhaus, mid-century, and 1970s-era furnishings, creating a space that feels both curated and comfortable. The open floor plan is ideal for gathering, cooking, and relaxing together.
The fully equipped kitchen is a favorite among guests who love to cook, featuring quality cookware, a Vitamix, food processor, air fryer, rice cooker, pour-over coffee system, induction stovetop and oven, Weber grill, and a well-stocked spice collection. We are happy to arrange a box of local organic produce for your stay if desired.
Each of the three bedrooms features a queen-size bed with fresh linens, ample storage, and peaceful garden or ocean views. The main bathroom enjoys ocean views, while a second semi-outdoor bathroom is perfect for showering after beach days. Bath and beach towels are provided.
Life on the farm unfolds gently around you. Wild chickens roam the land, tropical birds fill the air with song, and coqui frogs create a soothing nighttime chorus. You may also spot wild pigs moving quietly through the vegetation. These sounds and sights are part of the authentic Kona farm experience and connect you to the living landscape that surrounds the home.
Situated at 1,300 feet elevation, the home enjoys cooling mountain breezes in the evenings and refreshing ocean air during the day. You’ll be close to everything, yet feel worlds away, just 15 minutes from Kailua-Kona and a short drive to Keauhou, Captain Cook, Kealakekua Bay, Two Step snorkeling, and the Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park.
Guests enjoy exclusive use of the entire 1,500-square-foot home, the spacious covered lanai, laundry facilities, and paved grounds surrounding the house.
We are available by text or phone during your stay and are happy to share local recommendations to help you make the most of your time here.
Good to Know:
Active farm setting: This is a working Kona coffee farm with lush vegetation and wildlife. You may see or hear wild chickens, tropical birds, coqui frogs at night, and occasionally wild pigs moving through the land.
Natural island sounds: The home is located along a main road, so daytime traffic sounds may be present. Most guests find the expansive views, open skies, and elevated setting far outweigh this and come to appreciate the authentic rhythm of life here.
Farm terrain: The property is hilly and rocky. For safety, guests are asked to remain on paved areas near the driveway and lanai and not walk into the coffee fields.
Comfortable climate: At 1,300 feet elevation, the home stays naturally cooler with refreshing trade winds.
Car recommended: While rideshare is available from the airport, a rental car is recommended to explore beaches, snorkeling spots, markets, and nearby towns.
Wildlife harmony: Please do not feed the animals. They live naturally and peacefully as part of the surrounding ecosystem.
