The staff was excellent, the property is extremely dated and the rooms were disappointingly rough. Saggy mattress, shower that didn’t drain, toilet that ran all night, thin walls…. Not worth the price.

There was mold in the bathroom. The toilet has not been cleaned in a long time as it had a black ring. The shower head was filthy. The smell in the hote and in the room was bad. The couch had a suspicious brown stain. Your elevator probably should be condemned.

Dirty, dingy, old, stained. You can't avoid stairs. Pet-friendly, yes, but the extra fee is too high for the condition of the hotel. The courtyard area is on a steep hill, so no area for the dog to walk in the grass. Dog bags were not refilled. All furniture I've seen is broken. Insects, mice crawling in the walls, the TV Wi-Fi is so slow. Breakfast items (like juice and yogurt) are only slightly cool, but not cold. The staff doesn't communicate your requests with each other, or seem to care at all if you've actually had a nice stay. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

An enjoyable stay in Midtown/Westport, Kansas City

My room was spacious and clean looking. I was pleased overall. The TV worked fine. A desk clock worked good after I plugged it in. I was disappointed there were no USB sockets for charging devices, as these are becoming pretty common in hotel rooms. When I inquired about shower soap via text, the hotel responded promptly, and they were very gracious, asking me to let them know if there was anything else at all that I needed. They were always pleasant and polite, which is refreshing. The hotel is older, so the rooms might show that, esp the bathrooms - but this is more than made up for in the price and the graciousness of the staff. A pleasant stay in midtown KC!

Smelly room + poor breakfast

We stayed here before the KC marathon because it was close enough to walk to the marathon finish. Our room smelled like cigarettes and was very musty - so bad that our three year-old kept asking over and over what smelled so bad. The breakfast was a handful of bagels and nothing else. The comforter on the bed was as thin as a sheet. We are pretty low maintenance travelers, but I would not stay here again. The staff was very nice and helpful.

This was a fabulous hotel. The staff, specifically Jordan, was great. He provided recommendations and always very friendly. Location is great. It was older and therefore, older carpets and tile. It was clean but worn, but we would absolutely stay here again.

Place is in dire need of renovation. Beds, furniture, pillows all need to be replaced. Bathroom had a canted tp holder, towel bar was hanging on by the last threads. Cleaning was much to be desired. Also didn't like waking up to horrible bug bites that swelled up quite a bit.....

The location is terrific: close to Plaza, Nelson, etc, but not in the fray. Parking front and back is free. Spanish tile makes it look unique and it’s small, unlike almost every other hotel in the area. The staff is friendly. In the fall of 2025 they’re supposed to start a rehab, which should take care of the horrible old grout, failing bathroom fixtures and paint. The thick dust everywhere is really not excusable. The breakfast was pitiful, but maybe they’ll have better facilities after the rehab. If all you have is bagels and toast, you should have good ones. I would definitely stay here again after the rehab.

Loved looking out the window and watching the streetcars and city bustle and having the window shelf! The hotel had character with nice, friendly staff! The bathtub had a lived-in look to it, so I could see that some Americans used to newly remodeled looks wouldn’t suit them. I would love to stay again.

I was greeted by Jordan, who was very friendly and professional. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is due for a renovation, however, I find old hotels have a unique charm and beauty all their own. I did have to ask for soap for the bathroom, other than that my needs were met. The foyer is beautiful and comfortable, great to relax and just spend time in. 24 hour coffee, wonderful.

Jordan was wonderful and the most accommodating for our trip. However, the amenities weren’t anything to rave about. The breakfast options were minimal for already having a bagel bar, yogurt and oatmeal. The only ice machine was on the second floor. The bags for the pet area were empty. The room had boogers on the wall by the bed closest to the bathroom. The shower floor is chipping away. The ice bucket for guest was broken. My card had over $650 worth of pending charges when the room rate with the pet fee shouldn’t exceed $584 including taxes. Super inconvenient and I probably will never stay here again. I believe location alone is what we paid for.
