The Space:

Clean architectural lines, warm wood accents, and expansive windows give this modern desert retreat a distinctly contemporary feel. Inside, polished concrete floors, a dramatic black brick fireplace, and comfortable furnishings create an inviting contrast to the rugged landscape outside. Sliding glass doors open to a covered patio, making it easy to move between relaxing indoors and enjoying the desert air. The atmosphere is thoughtfully designed but never too precious for a little friendly competition.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The outdoor spaces are where Desert Lumina really comes into its own. Start a pickleball tournament with the mountains as your backdrop, then head down the landscaped pathway to the hot tub and cowboy tub. The 8-foot cowboy tub is made for cooling off on warmer days, while the hot tub offers a welcome place to relax after a hike or a particularly competitive match.



As the afternoon cools, settle into the covered patio's sectional seating around the modern fire feature. A second fire pit offers another gathering spot, giving your group room to spread out and enjoy the desert surroundings. Joshua trees, native vegetation, and distant mountain ridges frame the property, with open views of the surrounding landscape.



For a quieter escape, the primary suite's private outdoor bathtub offers a place to soak away from the group.



The cowboy tub is a seasonal feature, not an in-ground swimming pool. It is drained and unavailable from November through March. The property is not fully fenced.

The main living room has a relaxed, modern feel, with a rust-colored sofa, natural textures, and a striking floor-to-ceiling black brick fireplace. Tall windows frame the Joshua trees and surrounding mountains, bringing the landscape into the room without sacrificing comfort.

With island seating and an open layout, it's a space where everyone can participate, even when only one person is doing the cooking.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Desert Lumina has two bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed and its own adjoining bathroom. The simple, contemporary interiors feature crisp bedding, warm accent textiles, and understated furnishings that create a restful retreat from the home's lively shared spaces.



The primary suite has the added indulgence of a private outdoor bathtub, giving guests their own open-air bathing experience. Its ensuite bathroom complements the home's modern design with dark finishes and a contemporary vanity.



The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an adjoining Jack-and-Jill bathroom, which can additionally be accessed from the kitchen. This arrangement provides convenient access for guests spending time in the shared living spaces.



With two bedrooms and two queen beds, the home is especially well suited to two couples or a small family traveling together.



-Game Room-

When the pickleball matches are over, the competition moves indoors. The dedicated game room brings together a pool table, Skee-Ball, and air hockey, so there's always another round to play.



A couch and TV provide a place to relax between games or wind down with a movie. Whether you're keeping score all weekend or just enjoying a casual game with friends, this space gives Desert Lumina a personality all its own.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The Neighborhood:

Desert Lumina is in Joshua Tree, on dirt roads that are fine for low-riding cars, with cell phone coverage.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The roads to Desert Lumina are dirt, but low-riding cars can make it. Four-wheel drive is not necessary.
