If you want to respect yourself, don't go to this hotel, the staff doesn't care about people at all, it was the worst experience I had in Istanbul.

I had a long gap between flights, took this hotel for an overnight stay. There is a construction side nearby, many heavy vehicles start circulating around quite early in the morning. Taxi to / from airport was 12-15 EUR.

It's cheap (the discounted price only though, not the nominal one). It's close to the airport. There are a couple of cheap and nice restaurants nearby. The air conditioner works. You can sleep there for a couple of nights, no issues. You don't actually know which hotel you're booking through Expedia, they might place you in a nearby hotel "in the same group" rather than Intercity itself. The room doesn't look exactly like in the picture, and there's nothing "deluxe" about it. We saw a few roaches. Went out of toilet paper once, had to go to the reception for more. The breakfast is extremely basic, like no milk to go with your coffee, and the staff doesn't speak any foreign languages. No transportation nearby. The reading lights have no light bulbs, and the main light has the most ridiculous switch layout imaginable, you have to run around the room and turn ALL of the switches to "on" position in order to turn the lights on. Did I mention it's cheap (if you get the discount), and close to the airport?

One of those examples when a local word is just an empty place. We checked in a quadruple room in the late evening, went to bed just to find out that the AC would work for 5 min and then would stop. After a series of tries by myself and then with a staff, it seemed to be working and the staff assured it wouldn't turn back off anymore. Worthless to say, in half an hour it stopped working. The man at the desk didn't show much effort in trying to resolve the issue besides the two options: a technician who would come in half an hour, or cancel the reservation with a refund. We decided to go for a technician first (of course, no technician came in half an hour), but at the same time I searched for another hotel and found it (to which we'll give a great rating). We left the hotel being assured that the reservation is cancelled and the refund would be issued max the next morning. Now, 2 days later, I'm dealing with getting the money back. Outrageous experience.
