It was old and didn’t represent the photos on their website. The rug in the lobby was stained badly. We had paid almost $400 Canadian for an executive king and it wasn’t worth half of that. There wasn’t any air conditioning and we couldn’t keep the windows open because of how noisy it was outside. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were thin. The include breakfast was pretty typical. I would not recommend this hotel.
The location was so close to the train station and for all the tours. The breakfast in the morning was great! It was close to everything and a very walkable city. The room was large!
Room was not ready. Told it would be shortly. That they would let us know. We were directed to their bar to wait. Which was old and boring. There was no one there to take a drink order. After over an hour we went back ourselves. The room itself was fine. But the lobby area was old and drabby

Hotel was a good stay Everyone was very accommodating to our needs. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Plenty of hot & cold choices. Just be aware that one side of the hotel is on the main pub strip - there was noise.
You need ear plugs if you are in the side of the bars.
Otherwise close to everything.

Great location, hotel looking run down and room noisy due to people going through fire doors.
Bed was comfortable and great powerful shower.
Enjoyed evening meal and breakfast in hotel.

The service and food were excellent. You have amazing chef(s).
While the hotel is centrally located in the old part of town, unless you spend more to stay on the river side, you will likely not get much sleep. The hotel sits on one of the busier streets for nightlife, with clubs blasting music till 3 am. This made adjusting to the time difference extremely challenging as this was our first stop on our trip. Parking can also be tricky because of the location. The rooms, however, are clean and cute. The staff are super friendly. And the onsite restaurant was just what we needed after our long travel day. Perhaps we would have felt differently staying on the river side.
Tasteless interior decorating, not enough power sockets, leaking toilet, no fridge, kettle did fit under the sink tap.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the interior was in good shape. The exterior looked quite shabby and maybe needs some work. The room was comfortable but very noisy indeed (a Sunday night) as it overlooked a street with late bars and music venues. The internet coverage in the room was patchy. Water pressure in the shower (3rd floor) was very weak. Quite likely there are other rooms without these issues. Parking was 15 pounds a night (not included in the expedia booking and if it was advertised I didn't see the notice). Mercure is generally good and I'll stay with them again but probably not in the Inverness Mercure.
Had a great stay for a few nights. Excellent location in relation to any tours going on (don't have to walk far). The staff was very nice. Word to the wise about onsite parking - do not feed the meter in the lot. Just go to reception, you will pay there. That would be the only piece of advice I would give others and the hotel, is to make that more clear.
