I had a terrible stay and can’t believe this hotel carries a 3-star rating, it deserves 1-star at best. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper price. It’s essentially self-service: no reception, just a local phone number that may or may not answer in emergencies. The building has a constant stuffy smell, the “winder” staircase is dangerously narrow for carrying luggage, and our room (#29) had a private bathroom located outside across the hall like a dorm. At 11pm we discovered the shower had only scalding hot water with no cold option in 90° summer heat, and the bathroom also had bugs. Check-in/out is through a self-service machine that wasn’t even working at departure. Worst of all, the owner is completely untrustworthy: they charged me ~$3,600 a month in advance despite booking “Pay at Property” via Hotels.com, then refused to refund after I cancelled within the refund window. I only recovered my money after disputing the charge with my credit card company. This review is for the stay I actually completed after cancelling my original reservation, an experience so bad it left me with nightmares until my refund was secured. This hotel is unsafe, unreliable, and deceptive. Avoid it at all costs.
