Perfect location for tournaments, but safety and host response fell shortCheck-in was seamless and the proximity to our tournament was perfect. The house is basic and the rooms are quite tight. The downstairs living space is much nicer than the upstairs one.Since we were in town for a basketball tournament, we only needed the house to sleep and shower, making the beds our top priority. On our first night, a dad and his two daughters arrived late (around 12:45 AM). To avoid waking anyone, they took the downstairs bunk room. As one daughter got into the top bunk, the slats and mattress collapsed onto her sister on the bottom bunk. Fortunately, both were okay, but they were understandably too afraid to use the bunk for the rest of the stay and had to use trundle beds instead. When I reached out to the host the next day, her response was dismissive; she stated she couldn't believe there wasn't "horseplay involved." I felt this was very inconsiderate given the safety hazard. When I brought up the idea of compensation, she stopped replying entirely and ghosted my follow-up messages after we returned home. Had she handled this professionally and assured us the bed would be inspected for future guests, I would have left a much better review.
