"The staff are wonderful. Very helpful, respectful and polite. Complimentary bottle of water and cookie at check in was nice. The free breakfast was decent, the restaurant space was very accommodating.. always someone on top of cleaning up and replenishing. Unfortunately hotel is very old and in dire need of renovations. Old carpets in hallways, old paint. Elevator felt like a death trap because it was so small, noisy and very old. The room was clean, beds were comfortable but needed a gut renovation of the bathroom and closet. Old school dial timer heat lamp thing, and shower looked like something at least 50 years old with stained blueish tub. Abandoned hotel across the street made the area feel underdeveloped, which is far from the truth. I love state college, great energy there but I'll pass on this establishment."

"Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stores nearby if you need things you forgot or need. Nice park across the road to sit and relax, Hotel sits near the train tracks, but hardly any noise from the trains. Can get some very nice pictures of the trains if your interested."

"Arrived late and sign on very dark office door stated office closes at midnight and it was later than that. I assumed (incorrectly) that the phone number on office door was to be used while office was open. Concerned of how it would appear on security cameras that I would be loitering around a motel late at night and not wanting to ring someone’s number at about 1:30am, I chose to call the office in the morning and ask for a refund. Woman who answered said it was my fault I didn’t call the number and refused to refund our money. Thinking about this more, it would have been nice if it got close to the office closing time and they called me to ask if I was still coming and what to do when I got there. In addition, it would have been nice to have that late check in info sent to me in my confirmation email after booking. Instead, it stated on Expedia that their office was open/staffed 24/7. Which technically it is IF you’re instructed what to for late arrivals."
