I had good childhood memory of this YMCA location in the 80's. I am so glad that I can bring my family (my husband and two kids) to visit and stay in the new built YMCA hotel. My city view suite was upgraded to a harbour view for our 10-night stay. Since my daughter was having her birthday during the stay, they gave her a cute Happy Birthday panda as a gift. The first room assigned had a broken sofa bed leg so we had to change to another hotel room with identical room layout -- that was a great relief. We LOVE our spacious hotel room with harbour view. Housekeeping would clear our garbage daily and clean our entire every 3 days, which was perfect for us eco-friendly family. Self service laundry was on our 9th floor so we had fun getting the tokens to wash and dry our clothes twice. We enjoyed this very convenient location for tourists with a lot of HK cafes, HK snacks and drinks, Asian restaurants and fancy shopping malls. We even invited our relatives to have a dinner buffet at Haven restaurant before we left HK. The secret to go for MTR (TST station) is to take that L3 elevator in between Kowloon Hotel and Peninsula Hotel, just across the streets diagonally!! If we ever visit HK again for stopover or anything, we would LOVE to stay here again.

Overall clean and great service staff in the lobby! Overall enjoyed our stay Cleaning staff came & kept bugging us to open the door to cleanup while we were still in the room which I felt wasnt very nice (especially as we were trying to have our baby to sleep). The water situation wasnt good as it was via a water dispenser we had to keep refilling ourselves and the water came out super slow. Not a very good machine. Besides that overall all good! Great location, clean, etc.

We spent 3 nights here and found many positives, which all started with a friendly reception after our long flight from the UK. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our 3 nights, the beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed our harbour view from the 10th floor. The hotel is in a great location with lots of attractions and transport links close by, including the Star Ferry. We didn't initially book breakfast as Nicole is vegan, so we prefer to size up our options when we arrive. As it happens, there weren't many places that we could find to cater for her nearby, so we ended up using the hotel buffet breakfast, which not only was great value but also able to provide her with a substantial and balanced breakfast every morning. Also, I can thoroughly recommend the egg station; the man doing the eggs had mine cooked to perfection every morning. All in all, we found The Salisbury is a great place to stop and would stay there again if ever we find ourselves in HK

Close to the MTR, Nathan Road, Ocean Center and the Star Ferry, overlooking the harbor in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, the Salisbury is by far the at best location in Kowloon and at about a quarter the price of the Peninsula next door. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well furnished and immaculately maintained. But the best thing about the Salisbury the understated not in-your-face level of service provided by everyone from the doorman to the housekeepers to the concierge to the front desk receptionists. Yes I’ve stayed at other hotels over the years when I’ve been in Hong Kong on business but since I’ve retired I always come back to the Salisbury.
