Great value, beautiful view

Room was great value for money. Clean and comfortable.. The only downside was the noise when the bistro closed and the bar later as our room was above the main doors. It was quiet all other times so I would stay again but would request a room further from the entry.

It’s so close to everything in the city. The climb. Can hurt. But if you zigzag back to the MARQUIS. There is no hurt. Comfortable room with kettle To make a jolly instant coffee in the morning. And the views. From your bedroom window. Amazing. It’s perfect for that jump off point to see the wonders of Tassie. And it what’s makes me keep coming back.

I have stayed at The Marquis on 2 occasions and both times had a great visit. From check in to check out it’s been great. The rooms are clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The beds are great so a good night sleep is on the cards. Location is quiet and the surrounds are beautiful. The view is top notch. The meals at the pub are excellent and good value. I will be back and can definitely recommend.

We stayed there twice, at the beginning and end of our trip to Tassie. No hot water the first time and no room the second because somebody had stuffed up! Thanks to Jacqui we finally ended up with a room. The views were great.

Quite area, easy city access

We arrived after checkin time & was helped by a very friendly & helpful staff member who had just finished her shift. The next day was a public holiday so we didn’t see anyone else as the hotel was closed. Easy walk down hill to city centre & harbour. Quite an effort to return. But if taking a car there are plenty of paid car parks available.

Nice staff, clean and safe room. Good food in restaurant. The hike up the hill from town is challenging though. You will get a good workout if you walk.
