Myrtle is a beautiful, warm, comfortable thatched cottage dating back over 250 years. The semi detached cottage has beamed ceilings. There is ample parking for cars and a boat if needed with secure storage for bikes or kayaks. The cottage has its own delightful private garden with barbecue area and pagoda. It is furnished with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture whilst retaining its period charm. It boasts uninterrupted countryside views from the rear with magical sunrises.
Make yourself comfortable in this cottage, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and an electric kettle.

We had a lovely stay at Myrtle Cottage as a family of 4. The cottage itself is charming and characterful with a thatched roof and beautiful garden overlooking open fields, and a table under a pergola for eating al fresco. It is on a quiet country lane with wonderful walks out of the door to Helford and Frenchman’s Creek, and within easy range of all that West Cornwall has to offer. The cosy living room has a wonderful library of fiction and the master bedroom handily provides a window seat reading nook. There is an honesty shop a couple of doors down for essentials, though Maurice and Barbara are such wonderful hosts you don’t much need it, providing fresh eggs from their hens, milk, homemade jam, homemade cake (as well as a thoughtful Easter egg!) on arrival as well as keeping us topped up with fresh cake throughout the week. All in all a wonderful stay, excellent value, delightful hosts - we would love to stay again.

We had a wonderful week. It was very relaxing and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.We visited some lovely places including Trebah Gardens, Coverack Cove and the Minack Theatre.Barbara & Maurice were great hosts and we really appreciated the beautiful homegrown flowers and produce.We hope to return.

Characterful cottage on the Lizard Peninsular

We really couldn't fault Myrtle Cottage. Beautiful location, spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful owners and very well equipped kitchen. We also really appreciated all the little extras from the freshly laid eggs, milk and butter in the fridge, cake and fresh flowers. Thank you Maurice and Barbara. It was really hard to leave!

Serene location full of character

We really loved Myrtle Cottage which was comfortable with loads of country character. Our hosts went the extra mile to make us feel truly welcome. The area has so many wonderful places to explore, that a week isn’t long enough. I hope to be back at Myrtle Cottage soon.

We had a wonderful week in Myrtle Cottage. Maurice and Barbara were great hosts. Gave us some good local advice on places to go. They were very friendly and hospitable. The cottage was ideally situated for exploring the Lizard Peninsula. We would highly recommend and would love to return.

The cottage was just right for us and the garden a bonus - we were lucky with the weather. Wonderful hosts who were interesting to talk to and easily contactable if needed. We were delighted to find lots of free range eggs and tomatoes left for us when we arrived plus a delicious cake. We enjoyed meeting the happy looking hens and seeing where the produce was grown. Wonderful relaxing calm perfect hosts friendly kind and nothing is too much trouble

Loved our stay the cottage, the garden, enjoyed the cows over the garden wall and chickens too, it was lovely to “BE” in the countryside of Cornwall. Close enough to get to many beautiful places if wanted to leave the peacefulness of the cottage garden. The hosts were really special people who were willing to share their “Good Life” with us - including buckets and spades. Rooms were spacious all lovely, some lovely nooks and crannies and interesting books to look at too - time allowing. We will definitely be going back to enjoy more freshly grown tomatoes, cucumber, delicious blackcurrant jam and chocolate cup cakes - oh and fresh eggs from the 6 girls (chickens).
