You cannot beat this hotel for location. It is a short walk from the main station. It is connected to the mall and subway stations and it is in the heart of Helsinki! Personally, I loved their breakfast. The freshness and organic nature of the food was much appreciated. The staff were incredible and you couldn't ask for better. However, the rooms are kind of small, amenities lacking and just basic overall.

Pluses - The Scandic is conveniently located in a walkable area. The staff were warm and welcoming; happy to answer questions and provide support. The breakfast buffet is excellent and one of the best attributes of the hotel. The sauna is also a top asset that we enjoyed several times during our stay. It was nice to have a gym available too. Minuses - Amenities in the room were missed like a coffee maker and lotion. Mold in the shower was unappealing. Unfortunately the rooftop bar that was promoted wasn’t open and doesn’t open until late spring and summer.

Room was not acceptable for the price. The sink was clogged - it took 20 minutes to drain. Towels were thin. Bedding was substandard. Housekeeping woke me up at 8am to clean room and then never returned, so my room was never cleaned. Also, no phone in room so I have to get dressed to go to lobby to request something. Poor value

Convenient location

Hotel is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants museums and train station. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable and there was too much noise from upstairs and neighboring rooms as well as from the city.
