"What a perfect place to stay in the San Juans! It is situated between Ridgway and Telluride, with Ouray nearby as well, so mountain exploration possibilities are endless. The location of the bunkhouse is beautiful and although it's in the same driveway as the main house, it still maintains its privacy, especially with the deck. Also, the kindness of the folks living in the main house is unparalleled, so we could not recommend this stay enough!"

John designed and built it himself, which makes it extra special. The kitchen is impressively well stocked, with everything you might need to cook a full meal while soaking in those incredible views. Communication with the owner is smooth — you never hear from them unless you reach out, which gives you complete privacy while still knowing help is there if you need it.We loved exploring the nearby hikes, which offer even more stunning scenery. The roads getting there are fine, but we’d recommend a car with a little higher clearance for the driveway — it makes things easier.This was our second stay, and somehow it felt even more magical than the first.
