The hotel facilities and staff were beautiful. The roof top bar makes for an amazing experience, The resteraunt has a magnificent variety and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Right in the heart of old quater and wallable to all main tourist spots. Very great stay and would recommend to all.

The staff and amenities were excellent. The only poor part was the room door was poorly sound proofed and we were woken every night by guests coming back late. Solve this one issue and it would be as good as a hotel can be.

The hotel is very nice and located in the Old Quarter close to many attractions and restaurants. It was also very convenient to be picked up for tours. The staff are very accommodating and very helpful. The hotel arranged the transport from and to the airport for very reasonable rates. The manager went out of the way and spent much time in helping us resolve the issue of an incorrect date of birth of one of the travellers on our group. The staff were always smiling and welcoming when we met them at the front desk or in the corridors of the hotel. The dining room also has excellent stall and the food was very good. The breakfast has many good choices of Vietnamese, Chinese and Continental food. The coffee was very good and hot food was prepared freshly when requested for Pho or omelettes. We had an excellent stay and would strongly recommend to stay on this hotel when you are in Hanoi.

A lovely hotel in the middle of busy Hanoi! It had such unique decor, almost gothic, but it was really nice and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly, the top floor restaurant and bar served yummy food too!

Great location in the Old Quarter. The manager and staff were extra-friendly and helpful. Checking in was very pleasant and easy. The staff are all extra-courteous and polite. They go out of their way make you feel at home even though you are a visitor in a foreign country. Breakfast was plentiful with many choices of Asian and Continental food. Great start for the day. Highly recommended.

Book it!

So many things about this hotel exceeded expectations. The staff are amazing- so helpful from check in to check out. Welcome drink on arrival! The room was a large size, super comfy and luxury bathroom. There was a window from the bathtub to the bedroom area for extra views (great sunset vibes). Nice balcony for people watching and to relax with the rain sounds. If your an easy sleeper, bring ear plugs but most all noises stopped by midnight. Fridge, kettle, safe, robe and slippers all available here. The wifi was great. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices local and Western. The rooftop pool was small, but nice to relax and see the beautiful views. The location was great! Right in the mix of it all in Old Quarter. Luggage storage if you have an excursion planned for the day. Tip: there is a Viettel store 3 minutes walk away to top up your phone. There is also a great coffee shop next door. Recommend 10/10

This was our first visit too Vietnam and Hanoi - hopefully with many more to come!!! The entire staff at Le Chanvre were welcoming, friendly, helpful and supportive throughout our stay ( special shout out to Andrew and Helena - awesome people!!). The hotel is in a great location, has all amenities for a great stay ( breakfast options were delicious as was dinner). Terrific options for food, drink and shopping nearby.

Stylish hotel in great location

Wonderful little hotel in the heart of the old quarter. The staff were extremely helpful. For example organising tours and letting us leave our bags and take a shower before going on the train in the evening. The pool and roof top bar were great for a swim and refreshing cocktail after a day out. Gym was a little disappointing but everything else made up for that.

10/10 very comfortable and welcoming hotel. Mia at the front desk took care of all our problems with unparalleled efficiency. It's convenient that you can chat on WhatsApp with the hotel and they respond pretty instantly. Hotel location is great and right near all the major sights; it was quick and easy to get a Grab and only a few minutes from the lake. We booked a suite and the car service to and from the airport was included as was breakfast. The included massage was very relaxing, although the masseuses could have been a bit more attentive to details. Generally everything was great and we would stay again at Le Chanvre the next time we are in Hanoi.

There are many hotels in the old town. They are almost all of similar width (apparently they are taxed on the size of their frontage). The main benefit of this hotel is that it is in walking distance of all the sites in Hanoi, such as the lake and citadel. The hotel has been recently renovated so it is clean and everything works - the room's aircon was exceptional. A special mention to the receptionist staff who were lovely.
