Starting with the positives, it’s nicely situated on a small inlet that is about 3 feet deep and filled with oyster cribs. It’s pretty quiet with a lot of birds. The deck is nice to sit on and relax. The rooms and beds are nice, as are the bathrooms. The living space (LR and DR) is comfortable. It has a few amenities—the kayaks and cornhole boards—that are a plus. It’s a 10-minute drive to the ferry and Fort Morgan, a 20-minute drive to town, and a 15-minute walk to the ocean. The downsides are that the photos are misleading. There are 2 homes built next door that block the view of the bay, which the VRBO ad doesn’t show. I told the manager about it, and they said the property has been booked so they haven’t had a chance to update the ad, which is bs. The homes clearly have been there for at least a year. Also, one of the photos is aerial, so access wouldn’t be needed.Second, the house has zero amenities in the kitchen. No condiments (not even salt and pepper), no foil, no dishwashing soap or cleaning products, no BBQ tools. Just 2 dishwasher pods and 1 packet of laundry detergent. I assume the cleaning folks take whatever you leave behind. There is no icemaker. I’ve never stayed in a VRBO or rental property that was so sparsely supplied. Never staying at 1 of their properties again. Also, BBQ’s grill is in sad shape, the “lawn” between the house and the water is filled with prickly weeds that you can’t walk on in bare feet. The DR table is falling apart.
