4/5 Good

Germfask an odd name but interesting stay

Older building with a long history is well kept by Brian and Rebecca. They work for the owner and are responsive to requests. Our only complaint was for checkin. All that day we were out of cell and wifi coverage as much of the UP is. We couldn't get the checkin instructions. Alternate instructions were posted so we just had some extra effort to connect with the alternate. The unit is good size and has very interesting decorating including many books about the area and the UP in general. That was very helpful. Its within easy drive of Pictured Rocks, Whitefish Pt, the Soo and much of eastern UP. Very close to Seney Wildlife Preserve which is worth several hours of visit especially late afternoon when birds and beavers will be active.

Sisters weekend

Pros Slept the 6 of us , had 2 bathrooms, roomy living room and dining room , new fridge but was small if you had a bigger group of people , bedrooms adequate Cons More rustic than I expected, nothing to wash dishes in, couch needs to be replaced you sank in the middle of it , needs some TLC updates Did not use deck or fire pit or grill Stove and stove top was a problem but it is getting replaced

5/5 Excellent

Middle of the UP

If you are looking for a place for a LOT of people to sleep, this is your place. They do have a nice yard for kids to run around in and a washer & dryer.

Superb UP location

3 adults, 5 children ages 9-14 and 2 dogs with plenty of room for all. Snafu checking in (given wrong key box code) but resolved quickly. Perfect location for exploring the eastern UP. Pros: Location, space, cleaniness, general store short walk away, restaurant/bar short walk away, friendly neighbors. Everything we needed to make meals and grill. Great value! Need to know: There are two large tents in the back yard that are rented out on a nightly basis. We did not expect this. Cons: right on the main drag so noisy from early morning to late at night. Trucks are particularly loud. Reason for 4 stars? With 5 kids needing to stretch their legs having less than complete back yard for them to play (large tents) hampered their activities. Noise from trucks would wake us up. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars. Clean, comfortable and spacious lodging. Would stay here again.
