Rooms are beautifully and interestingly decorated and furnished, I think in the style of a well heeled Chinese family of a bygone era. Both rooms 8 and 9 are huge, especially 9. We were quickly offered a change to room 9 because the air conditioning unit in room 8 needed attention. Breakfast was à la carte, well cooked and sufficient.

To rate this hotel 4 stars is likely calling Donald Trump a Rhodes Scholar. Old, outdated, marginally clean, the bathroom of a hostel at best. The best I can say is that the attached cafe is pretty good. Very poor value for the money.

Being on a unesco world heritage site, I loved their use of Old colonial furniture and fixtures. Staff were great. Very friendly. Great breakfast. Right in the middle of old town Georgetown.
